چکیده

This paper presents a novel texture boundary detector called the standard deviation ridge detector. At 43.29 frames per second, it is one of the few texture boundary detectors that can run in realtime. With its Berkeley segmentation benchmark F-statistic of 0.62, the algorithm outperforms all existing realtime texture boundary detectors. The use of the boundary detector would induce noticable improvements to all realtime machine vision applications. In addition, a ridge detector, which is better suited to realtime than other approaches, is presented as part of the proposed algorithm.

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC REACTION RATE METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF SLWR BASED ON ITS CATALYTIC EFFEICT ON THE OXIDATION OF GLLOCYANW BY PER0XYDISULPTE

A sensitive and selective procedure was developed for the spectrophotometric determination of silver by its catalytic effect on the oxidation of gallocyanine by peroxydisulphate in acidic media at 540 nm. Silver can be determined in the range of 0.001-0.500 µg/ml with a limit of detection of 0.0005 µg/ml, by a fixed-time method of 4.0 min from initiation of the reaction, The relative standa...

Texture Boundary Detection for Real-Time Tracking

We propose an approach to texture boundary detection that only requires a line-search in the direction normal to the edge. It is therefore very fast and can be incorporated into a real-time 3–D pose estimation algorithm that retains the speed of those that rely solely on gradient properties along object contours but does not fail in the presence of highly textured object and clutter. This is ac...

Determining Effective Features for Face Detection Using a Hybrid Feature Approach

Detecting faces in cluttered backgrounds and real world has remained as an unsolved problem yet. In this paper, by using composition of some kind of independent features and one of the most common appearance based approaches, and multilayered perceptron (MLP) neural networks, not only some questions have been answered, but also the designed system achieved better performance rather than the pre...

A NOVEL AND HIGHLY SENSITIVE CATALYTIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ULTRA TRACE AMOUNTS OF CERIUM WITH SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETECTION

Cerium (IV) has a catalytic effect on the very slow redox reaction between gallocyanine and bromate in acidic media. The reaction was monitored spectrophotometrically at 525 nm by a fixed time method of 4.0 rnin from initiation of the reaction. The decrease in absorbance at 525 nm is proportional to the Ce (IV) concentration in the range of 0.005-1.000 and 1.00-10.00 pg. ml-l. The limit of ...

Ridge Walking for 3D Surface Segmentation

This paper describes a new 3D surface segmentation algorithm that separates a closed surfaces into regions by computing surface contours that traverse ridges of highcurvature surface regions. We refer to the approach as ridge-walking since these contours tend to follow convex ridge-like structures and concave valley-like substructures present within the geometry of the model. Segmentation is ac...
